"Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Launched with Major Update 7.0 Changes"

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s first Public Test Server (PTS) is now live, offering players a sneak peek at the upcoming Update 7.0 and its associated patch notes.

According to an official community post from publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive, the preliminary patch notes for the PTS include "most" of the features expected in Update 7.0. However, the final version may vary as the team continues to polish and fix bugs before release.

This early build is exclusively available to PC players participating in the Public Test Server—console players won’t be able to access it just yet. That said, there's plenty to explore, especially with the new content and systems introduced in this update.

For endgame enthusiasts, prestige ranks offer a new progression system in PvE, allowing players to continue climbing even after reaching the level cap.

Private PvP Lobbies
Competitive players can now create custom private lobbies for matches, making it easier to practice, stream, or play with friends without interference.

Customization Updates

Fans of customization will appreciate the new color options: Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue. Additionally, Bulwark cloth and hands can now be recolored, giving players more freedom to personalize their appearance.

Those who enjoy PvP will see a 50% increase in customization rewards, encouraging more time spent in competitive modes. Two exclusive skins are also added via the PTS: the Imperial Fists Champion skin for Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion skin for Vanguard class.

Major Balance Changes

One of the most significant updates is the expansion of weapon choices across all classes in PvE. This change allows for greater flexibility in gameplay styles—Assault players can now wield the Power Sword without requiring any mods, improving accessibility and fun.

Additionally, several long-standing issues have been addressed. For example, on the Inferno Operation, if one player reaches the assembly area during the final stage, others will now be forcibly teleported after a short delay. This eliminates griefing tactics where players could indefinitely stall progress by staying outside the zone.

  • "Able Precision" (Artificer): Duration increased from 5 to 10 seconds
  • "Fast Regeneration 1" (Artificer): Replaced with “Head Hunter” (Headshots deal +10% damage)
  • "Fast Regeneration 2" (Artificer): Replaced with “Recoupment” (Killing a Majoris+ enemy with a headshot restores 1 armor segment; 15s cooldown)
  • "Head Hunter 2" (Artificer): Replaced with “Tactical Precision” (Headshots +20% damage, non-headshots -10%)
  • "Rapid Health" (Relic): Heal increased from 5% to 10%, no cooldown
