Square Enix has officially announced that the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PC on September 17th. This announcement also suggests a positive trajectory for future PC releases, with the director hinting at simultaneous multi-platform launches.
The PC version will be available for $49.99, with a Complete Edition at $69.99, including the "Echoes of the Fallen" and "The Rising Tide" story expansions. A playable demo is currently available, featuring the prologue and an "Eikonic Challenge" combat mode. Demo progress carries over to the full game.
In a recent interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, FFXVI Director Hiroshi Takai revealed that the PC version boasts a 240fps frame rate cap and support for various upscaling technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS.
