Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: To be Europe's Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic masterpieces, particularly the Uncharted series, Remedy Entertainment, led by Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, aims to establish itself as a leading European game developer, mirroring the success of its American counterpart. Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, explicitly stated their goal: "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog."

This ambition is clearly reflected in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, stunning visuals, and gripping narrative. The game's success has significantly boosted Remedy's standing within the European gaming industry. Their aspirations extend beyond the horror genre; they seek to emulate Naughty Dog's mastery of single-player, cinematic experiences, a legacy cemented by franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us – the latter being one of the most critically acclaimed game series ever.

Alan Wake 2 continues to receive ongoing support, even over a year post-launch. Recent updates deliver various enhancements across all platforms. A key improvement is the addition of a "Balanced" graphics mode for the PS5 Pro, skillfully combining the best aspects of its Performance and Quality modes. These updates also include minor graphical tweaks for smoother framerates and reduced visual noise, alongside bug fixes, particularly addressing issues within the Lake House expansion.
