Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. While initially providing character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature direct interactions through Elemental Effects, moving beyond passive enhancements. This guide details these effects and their impact.
All Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs
Elemental Effects, previously limited to enemy application (like Lampylumen Myriad's freezing effect), now affect players. Each element inflicts a unique status effect, often a damage-over-time (DoT) effect. Dodging removes these stacks.

| Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically (max 2). At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
| Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack (max 10 stacks). At 10 stacks, freezes the resonator; "Struggle" speeds thawing. |
| Spectro Frazzle | Stacks reduce periodically, dealing Spectro DMG per stack. More stacks = more DMG over time. |
| Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10 (unless removed), exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
| Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal DMG; more stacks = more DMG over time. |
| Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 (-5%), 5-9 (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 (-10%). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets
Currently, Elemental Effect utilization remains niche, limited to specific Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets.
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
Only Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 storyline) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies Spectro Frazzle (2 stacks) and Shimmer (prevents stack decay), allowing sustained effect buildup.
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:
Currently, only one Echo set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily aiding Spectro Rover:
- Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2pc: +10% Spectro DMG. 5pc: Spectro Frazzle inflicts +20% Crit. Rate (15s); 10 stacks grant +15% Spectro DMG Bonus (15s).
- Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix deals 273.60% Spectro DMG; DMG vs. Spectro Frazzled enemies increased by 100.00%; +12.00% Spectro DMG Bonus.
While limited now, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests future expansion in Wuthering Waves.
