Squad Busters: Major Rework and Overhaul Revealed

by Benjamin May 20,2025

Since its initial launch in 2024, Supercell has placed significant expectations on Squad Busters. This unique blend of merge, upgrade, and MOBA elements has experienced fluctuating popularity. However, a major gameplay overhaul set to coincide with its first anniversary on May 13th aims to revitalize the game's appeal.

The most significant change in this update is the introduction of heroes as core components of the gameplay. Players will now select a hero, such as the Barbarian King or Archer Queen, to lead their squad. These heroes come with distinct and more powerful abilities, adding a new layer of strategy and excitement to the game.

Another pivotal update is the ability to fight on the move. Previously, players had to stop their squad to engage in combat, but now, Squad Busters allows for continuous movement while attacking. This change promises to make the game even faster and more dynamic. While players can still halt to enable quicker attacks from their troops, the option to fight on the move is a game-changer.

Squad up!The introduction of heroes not only enhances the strategic depth but is also crucial for squad survival and progression. If your hero is defeated, the game is over regardless of the number of squaddies you have. This overhaul represents a fundamental shift from the original gameplay mechanics of Squad Busters, effectively reinventing the game's foundation.

The community's response has been largely positive, with many players eager to see how these changes will unfold. There is a strong belief that this update will reignite interest in Squad Busters, bringing new life to the Supercell super crossover.
