Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially announced the title of its upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. This highly anticipated game is being developed by the newly established studio Bit Reactor, with support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. So far, the only glimpse we have of the game is a single piece of official artwork.
Star Wars: Zero Company is set to be a single-player turn-based tactics game. Fans won't have to wait long for more details, as EA is scheduled to offer a first look at the game on April 19 during Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, formed in 2022, is a strategy game studio composed of industry veterans who have worked on acclaimed titles like XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it's been known for some time that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, the recent announcement marks the first time specific details about the game have been shared.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat unclear. Respawn has faced significant challenges recently, including the cancellation of their own Star Wars FPS project a year ago, alongside widespread layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.
More information about Star Wars: Zero Company will be unveiled at a live panel on Saturday, April 19, at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For fans in the U.S., this translates to an early morning reveal at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so be sure to set your alarms if you don't want to miss out on the latest updates.
