The Pokémon Company International shattered a Guinness World Record on November 26th, 2024, achieving the longest unboxing livestream for the launch of their latest Pokémon TCG expansion, Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks.

This record-breaking event, broadcast live on Pokémon's Twitch channel, saw popular online personalities, including Serebii's Joe Merrick, PokeGirl Ranch, and Mayplaystv, team up to open over 1,500 booster packs and other Pokémon products. The impressive result? A staggering 20,000+ cards!

Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, expressed immense pride in this accomplishment, highlighting the collaborative effort with talented content creators. He stated, "It's been an incredible 24 hours of pack opening, and we’re thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title."

The celebration doesn't end there! The Pokémon Company announced future giveaways on the participating content creators' channels within the next two weeks. Furthermore, all the cards opened during the livestream will be donated to charities, including Barnardo’s in the UK, before the holidays.

Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks: More Than Just Cards

Released on November 8th, 2024, Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks transports players to the Terarium, a key location from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Indigo Disk. This expansion introduces powerful Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, such as the defensively formidable Archaludon ex.

Fans can also discover iconic Dragon-type Pokémon including Palkia, Dialga, Eternatus, Alolan Exeggutor ex, and Tatsugiri ex. The expansion also features Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare cards, showcasing serene ocean scenes with Alolan Dugtrio and Feebas. New Tera Pokémon ex like Pallossand ex and Flygon ex add exciting options to TCG decks.

The digital version is also available on the Pokémon TCG Live app, offering in-game bonuses for collecting and battling with the new Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
