"The primary reason for these existing bosses in Nightrein is from a gameplay perspective," Ishizaki stated. "With this new structure and style of game, we needed a diverse array of bosses. We wanted to leverage what we deemed appropriate from our previous titles to enhance the player experience."
Ishizaki acknowledged the deep affection players have for these iconic characters and their memorable battles. "We understand that our players have a lot of affection for these characters and cherish their memories of battling them," he said. "We aimed to integrate them in a way that complements the atmosphere and vibe of Elden Ring Nightreign without overly disrupting the lore." He also highlighted that reintroducing these bosses adds a fun element to the game. While there might not be a strong lore connection tying Elden Ring to other FromSoft games, fans are encouraged to focus on the primary antagonist, the Night Lord, and its potential links to the overarching Elden Ring narrative.
