The much-anticipated single-player action game, *Lost Soul Aside*, initially set to launch on May 30, 2025, has now been delayed to August 29, 2025, as announced by its developer, Ultizero Games. This title, which has been in development for roughly a decade, was slated for release on PC and PlayStation 5 next month. However, in a recent statement, Ultizero Games explained the decision to push back the release date to late August to ensure a more polished final product.
"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced *Lost Soul Aside*," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. *Lost Soul Aside* will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."
Originally a passion project by solo developer Yang Bing, *Lost Soul Aside* has evolved into a significant title under Sony's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen the game grow from a solo vision to a highly anticipated release. In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing discussed the extensive development journey of *Lost Soul Aside*, which gained significant attention following its trailer reveal at Sony's State of Play broadcast. The game's hype has been building ever since Yang Bing's initial reveal video went viral in 2016, with many praising it as a thrilling blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat.
In *Lost Soul Aside*, players will control the protagonist, Kesar, who wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that allows for different playstyles. Accompanying Kesar is a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in battle. The game draws inspiration from its influences, focusing on aerial dodging, precision timing, combos, and countering, alongside epic boss fights. Set within a sci-fi narrative, *Lost Soul Aside* features a mix of contemporary aesthetics and takes players across multiple dimensions. While the trailers leave much of the story shrouded in mystery, Yang Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
