J.C. Lee, daughter of the iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee, has broken her silence in a recent interview with Business Insider, addressing and denying allegations of elder abuse against both her father and her late mother, Joan. The accusations, which surfaced in 2017 following Joan's passing, were detailed in a 2018 The Hollywood Reporter (THR) article. The report claimed that J.C. Lee exerted pressure on her parents for financial gain and control over assets, portraying a volatile relationship marked by verbal disputes and at least one alleged physical incident. The THR article included photos of a bruise on Joan Lee's arm, which J.C. Lee vehemently denies causing.
In her first public response to these allegations, J.C. Lee told Business Insider that the claims were entirely "a lie." She explained her silence at the time of the THR article was due to advice from those around her, a decision she now regrets. "You think I haven't regretted it to this day?" J.C. Lee stated, firmly denying any physical abuse. "They are all lies. That photo is insane. I never did it."
While acknowledging heated arguments over money with her parents, J.C. Lee insists that these disputes never escalated to physical violence. "I never ever touched my parents," she affirmed.
Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95 due to a heart attack.
