FromSoftware, the developer behind Elden Ring Nightreign, has finalized server maintenance to boost matchmaking performance.
Over the game’s launch weekend, FromSoftware addressed matchmaking challenges in Elden Ring Nightreign, advising players to restart matchmaking and, for PlayStation 4 and 5 users, to verify their NAT type.
Following maintenance on June 6 aimed at improving expedition matchmaking with an active Remembrance, online features are now fully operational, raising hopes for a smoother player experience.
“Thank you for your patience, Nightfarers,” FromSoftware stated. “Limveld awaits.”
Despite initial hurdles, Elden Ring Nightreign sold 3.5 million copies in just five days. While Elden Ring sold 30 million copies since its 2022 release, Nightreign is unlikely to reach those heights. For comparison, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion moved 5 million units in three days in 2024.
Nightreign’s Steam user reviews have shifted from 'mixed' to 'mostly positive,' with early criticism focusing on its challenging solo mode, absent duos co-op, lack of voice chat, and dated mechanics.
On Monday, FromSoftware issued a patch to ease solo play and confirmed that Duos mode is in development.

Moving forward, FromSoftware announced that alongside a DLC release later this year, new features will be gradually introduced, including enhanced battles against Nightlords starting this month.
Earlier this week, the director of Elden Ring Nightreign shared that he defeated every boss solo without Relics, emphasizing that it’s “very possible” for players to conquer all challenges.
