Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to team up with reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. While initially met with enthusiasm, the game's long beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. Kabam recommends completing the final storyline before the game's closure.
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-app purchases to fully develop characters, also proved a deterrent for many. Despite this, the game's character designs and graphics were widely praised.
The Unexpected Shutdown
The EOS announcement comes as a surprise, especially considering the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first game closure; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
