WoW: Midnight Unveils Flexible Housing System

by Evelyn May 12,2025

Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the upcoming in-game housing system in *World of Warcraft: Midnight*. Although the expansion is slated for release after *The War Within* as part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews indicate that the level of customization will exceed many players' expectations.

A recent developer blog showcased in-game videos demonstrating the furniture placement mechanics. The system utilizes a grid for item alignment with automatic snapping, allowing players to effortlessly arrange their spaces. Moreover, larger objects such as shelves or tables can be adorned with smaller accessories that remain attached even when repositioned.

The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy organization and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players have the freedom to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, facilitating the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

Another standout feature is the ability to scale objects, catering to the diverse sizes of characters. This means gnomes can craft cozy, intimate spaces, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, certain furniture pieces designed specifically for the housing system will support recoloring, although legacy assets might not include this option.

With *Midnight* still months away, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged and eager by teasing upcoming content, ensuring sustained excitement for the game's future updates.
