Since 2018, World of Warcraft has incentivized longer subscriptions with themed in-game rewards, typically refreshed in January and July. The 2024 rewards, themed around the Year of the Wood Dragon, included the Auspicious Arborwyrm. Now, as we look forward to 2025, the Timbered Sky Snake and Timbered Air Snakelet celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake. These items can also be purchased separately from the in-game store for $25 and $10, respectively, though the Timbered Sky Snakelet for modern WoW is available on the Battle.net shop for $10 and not included in the subscription offer.
January 2025 Six-Month WoW Subscription Offer

Players already on a recurring subscription will also receive these rewards. Both items must be redeemed by January 31, 2026, before they are replaced by items themed for the Year of the Fire Horse.
In addition to these new rewards, 12-month subscribers will also receive the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, as well as the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. These subscribers will also automatically receive July’s six-month subscription offer, making the 12-month subscription highly beneficial for collectors.
Looking ahead, World of Warcraft’s 2025 roadmap promises significant updates. Retail WoW will see major patches starting with 11.1 and possibly introduce player housing by year's end. For Classic, progression servers will move to Mists of Pandaria, new anniversary realms will advance through vanilla and into The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery will reach its final phase.
