Summoning Your Hoverboard

Simply hold down your Dodge button. Your character will dash forward and automatically mount the Hoverboard, as long as you continue holding the button. Releasing the Dodge button dismounts you. The Hoverboard will also automatically deactivate if your Energy depletes. Monitor your Energy level (displayed near your companion) to avoid unexpected dismounts.
