Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the shattered world of Talamh, the narrative unfolds after a devastating magical cataclysm. The residents of Talamh live in fear of magic, a fear that the tyrannical King-Sun Azra manipulates to enslave mages through his oppressive Crimson Order. In defiance, a courageous band of heroes emerges, featuring the necromancer Galandra, the rebellious gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.
Players can look forward to engaging in intense combat, enhancing their characters with upgradable abilities, executing powerful combos, and casting magical spells. Absolum offers both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing players to team up, coordinate their attacks, and unleash devastating combinations on their foes.
The game's auditory experience is elevated by the work of renowned composers: Gareth Coker, celebrated for his contributions to Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, famed for her work on Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundtracks of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025, and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Prepare to dive into this dynamic world and join the fight against tyranny.
