Stellar Blade's 1.009 update: A bittersweet victory for players

The highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC have arrived in Stellar Blade, but unfortunately, they've also brought some unwelcome baggage: game-breaking bugs. Shift Up, the game's developers, are aware of the issues and are working on a hotfix.

Stellar Blade's Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC

Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix

Patch 1.009 has introduced softlocks in a main quest, crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie function, and rendering issues with new cosmetic items. Shift Up strongly advises against attempting to force quest progression, as this could lead to a permanent softlock even after the hotfix is released. Patience is key while waiting for the fix.

NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements

The collaboration with NieR: Automata, heavily inspired by the original game, delivers 11 exclusive items. Players can find Emil, the iconic NieR character, within Stellar Blade's world to acquire these rewards.

Stellar Blade's Photo Mode in Action

The long-requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges add another layer of engagement to this feature. In addition to the Photo Mode, the update includes:

  • Four new outfits for Eve.
  • A new accessory altering Tachy Mode's appearance (post-game completion).
  • A "No Ponytail" option for increased customization.
  • Lip-sync support for six additional languages.
  • Improved auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill.
  • Various minor bug fixes.

While the new content is exciting, the unforeseen bugs are a setback. However, with Shift Up actively addressing the situation, players can look forward to a smoother, more enjoyable Stellar Blade experience soon.
