2K Games has confirmed Borderlands 4 will be priced at $70 as preorders begin worldwide.
The pricing discussion gained traction after Gearbox development chief Randy Pitchford sparked controversy with his response to a fan concerned about an $80 price point. Pitchford stated: "if you're a true fan, you'll find a way to make it happen."
Following backlash, Pitchford clarified his statements in subsequent tweets. The publisher has now officially set the standard edition price at $69.99.
Borderlands 4 will launch in three editions:
- Standard Edition - Base game only (£59.99)
- Deluxe Edition - Includes Bounty Pack Bundle with 4 DLC packs, vault cards, vehicles and cosmetics (£89.99)
- Super Deluxe Edition - Includes all Deluxe content plus Vault Hunter Pack and Ornate Order Pack (£119.99)
All editions are available for preorder now ahead of the September 12, 2025 worldwide release. Preorder bonuses include the Gilded Glory Pack featuring exclusive skins and a drone cosmetic.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam/Epic Games Store. The premium editions offer substantial post-launch content including new story expansions, playable characters, regions, and cosmetic items.
