Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the mastermind behind Stardew Valley, recently took to Twitter (X) to share updates on the game's ports and upcoming PC enhancements. Amidst the anticipation, Barone reassured his community with a significant promise. He stated, "The ports and next PC update are still in progress. I know it is taking a long time, it's on my mind every minute. I have personally been working on the mobile port every day. I will announce when there is any meaningful news (e.g., a release date). Hope you're having a good summer."

Responding to a fan's comment about the importance of free content, Barone made a solemn vow: "I swear on the honor of my family name, I will never charge money for a DLC or update for as long as I live." This powerful statement assures fans that they can continue to enjoy new content without any additional costs.

Stardew Valley, released in 2016, has seen numerous updates that enhance gameplay and introduce exciting new features. The latest update, version 1.6.9, brings three new festivals, the ability to have multiple pets, expanded home renovation options, new outfits, late-game content, and various quality-of-life improvements.

Barone's dedication to his fans extends beyond Stardew Valley. He is currently working on a new game, Haunted Chocolatier, though details remain scarce. Fans eagerly await more information on this upcoming project.

As the sole developer of Stardew Valley, Barone's promise reflects his deep respect and empathy for the gaming community. He even encouraged fans to hold him accountable, saying, "Screencap this and shame me if I ever violate this oath." This assurance ensures that players can look forward to new and engaging ways to experience Stardew Valley, even seven years after its initial release, without incurring extra costs.
