Subway Surfers is arriving on Apple Arcade as Subway Surfers+
It delivers ad-free gameplay and a handpicked selection of content spanning its 13-year legacy
Subway Surfers+ joins the new App Store Greats collection
Mobile gaming has long been defined by a handful of iconic titles—Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Temple Run, and of course, Subway Surfers. These are games that have endured for years and remain central to the mobile experience we cherish. With the launch of Subway Surfers+, Apple Arcade subscribers can now enjoy it without interruptions.
To be clear, this isn’t a radically new take on the Subway Surfers you know and love. But you’ll still find delightful additions like ad-free play and a curated roster of content—including World Tour locations, characters, and more—from across its 13-year journey.
More importantly, it’s part of the App Store Greats collection, a curated lineup of landmark apps from the history of the iOS App Store. Given Subway Surfers’ pivotal role in shaping mobile gaming, its inclusion feels both fitting and long overdue.

All over the world
It’s surprising Apple hasn’t done something like this sooner. Looking back, the App Store Greats collection seems obvious—but better late than never. Even if Subway Surfers isn’t typically expensive, playing it without ads is a welcome upgrade.
As for Apple Arcade’s broader direction, it might be compelling to see a stronger emphasis on essential classics alongside new releases. While fresh games are great, a solid foundation of timeless titles could anchor the service even more effectively.
Still, whether it’s an icon or not, there’s never been a richer time to explore mobile games than right now. Don’t take our word for it—check out our list of the best mobile games of 2025 (so far) for this year’s top picks.
