Silver Surfer Spotlighted in Fantastic Four Trailer Amid Galactus Threat

by Hazel Apr 27,2025

The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers an exciting glimpse into the new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world, showcasing how Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer fits into this narrative. This two-and-a-half-minute clip provides deeper insights into the world where Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) have transformed their universe into a utopia. In this setting, Marvel’s First Family is celebrated as a (growing) team of heroes who not only protect their world but also serve as role models for both children and adults. The trailer teases that their abilities will be challenged when Garner's Silver Surfer descends to warn them of an impending threat: Galactus.

PlayCompared to previous footage, today's trailer is notably more action-packed. We see Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and get a clearer view of Reed Richards’ stretchy powers. These are fresh interpretations of the classic abilities the Fantastic Four have possessed for decades, and fans will get a comprehensive look at how these powers will synergize when the movie hits theaters in July.

Julia Garner's portrayal of Silver Surfer steals the spotlight in this trailer. Although she only speaks a few ominous words about this alternate Earth being "marked for death," her character appears exceptionally powerful, effortlessly deflecting the Human Torch and navigating through explosions. While the trailer keeps Galactus' full MCU appearance under wraps, we do catch a glimpse of him stomping through the city upon his arrival.
