For those striving for the ultimate conclusion in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing specific tasks is essential, and saving Sam is a crucial step towards achieving that perfect ending. To ensure you don't miss out, it's important to know where to find Sam during your journey.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

As you approach the climax of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. The mission "Reckoning" presents your opportunity to rescue him. Infiltrating the camp requires a strategic approach; you can choose between stealth or direct confrontation.

To move freely within the camp, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can acquire this by either eliminating a guard and taking his attire or by searching the numerous chests scattered around the camp. Once you're disguised, you can explore the camp without arousing suspicion.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, past the open area with a cooking fire. Access the barn using the ladder on its side and drop down inside to confront Brabant. At this juncture, you face a pivotal choice: you can either kill or spare Brabant. Opting to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, but the decision is yours.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, it's not immediately time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also within the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, secure a horse, and then return to Sam. Sam can safely wait while you complete these tasks, making the sequence more manageable as you'll need to carry him to the horse.

Von Aulitz can be found in the main section of the camp. With your guard disguise, the guards at his door will allow you entry without issue. Upon finding von Aulitz, who is already on the brink of death, he requests a dignified end. Granting his wish is the most honorable choice, though you can also choose to kill him cruelly or leave him to die slowly. Interestingly, leaving him to die actually contributes to the best ending.

Your final steps involve retrieving Sam and securing a horse. Return to the barn where Sam awaits. If questioned by a guard about moving Sam, simply state you're handling a body, which will dispel any suspicion. Exit the camp through the gates, turn right, and follow the perimeter to reach the stables.
