Asobo Studio has unveiled Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy during today's Xbox Games Showcase, marking the return of the acclaimed narrative series with a prequel adventure set for 2026.
Journey to the Origins
Set 15 years before the events of the original game, Resonance follows young plunderer Sophia as she flees pursuers and washes ashore on the mysterious Minotaur's Island. Players will navigate between medieval and ancient Minoan settings while unraveling island myths and Sophia's own mysteries.

Twin Eras, One Deadly Quest
The game introduces dual historical settings that will shift throughout Sophia's journey. Players must survive labyrinthine environments filled with deadly traps and mind-bending puzzles while uncovering the island's dark secrets.
Platforms and Availability
Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam in 2026. The game will be available through Xbox Game Pass on release day.
The Plague Tale series has earned critical acclaim, with 2019's Innocence receiving a 7/10 from IGN for its compelling narrative and refined stealth mechanics, while 2022's Requiem scored an 8/10 as an ambitious sequel that expanded the series' scope.
