PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain!

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held as part of the Gamers8 festival in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been cut in half, leaving 12 contenders vying for a share of the $3 million prize pool.

For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's a Gamers8 spin-off designed to showcase major esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is among the games successfully featured. Currently, Alliance leads the pack.

The remaining 12 teams will enjoy a week's respite before the final stage, scheduled for July 27th and 28th. However, the action isn't over yet! The 12 eliminated teams will compete in a "Survival Stage" on July 23rd and 24th for two coveted spots in the final.

While the EWC's overall impact remains to be seen, it's generated significant buzz. It's worth noting, though, that the PUBG Mobile World Cup isn't the largest event on the game's esports calendar, so its prominence may be eclipsed by future tournaments.

In the meantime, check out our list of the best mobile games of 2024 to keep you entertained until the next stage of the EWC begins!
