Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited—IO Interactive has just announced that their highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. As detailed on IO Interactive’s website, this game will introduce players to an entirely fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
In Project 007, you'll have the chance to step into the shoes of the world's most renowned Secret Agent and embark on the journey to earn your 00 status. This marks the debut of a James Bond origin story, a first in the franchise's gaming history. According to the developers, "Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story."
Back in October, IO Interactive's Head, Hakan Abrak, shared insights with IGN about crafting this innovative origin story for the beloved spy. He emphasized the unique opportunity to create an original narrative, stating, "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie." He further elaborated on the vision for the project, saying, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
