Pokémon Go Celebrates New Year with Festive Event

Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration Returns! Get ready for festive fun!

Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. Expect themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and a whole lot of New Year's cheer! This follows the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd) featuring returning Community Day Pokémon.

This year's highlights include a boosted XP reward of 2,025 XP for each Excellent Throw, festive fireworks, and immersive New Year's decorations.

Keep an eye out for special Pokémon! Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat) will appear more frequently in the wild, with a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids star party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are increased for all three.
