As with many highly anticipated releases, the pre-order phase has been tumultuous, with scalpers and website issues complicating the process for fans eager to get their hands on the new cards.
Destined Rivals stands out for a few reasons that make it particularly coveted. One significant draw is the return of Trainer's Pokémon cards, reminiscent of classics like Brock's Sandslash and Rocket's Mewtwo. When pre-orders opened, fans encountered numerous challenges accessing the Pokémon Center website to purchase the Elite Trainer Box (ETB), a popular starter pack for collectors and players. Frustration mounted as many were unable to secure their orders.
Scalpers quickly capitalized on the situation, listing the ETBs on platforms like eBay at exorbitant prices, with some listings reaching several hundred dollars for a box that typically retails at $54.99.
