The Pocket Gamer Awards 2024 winners are in, following two months of nominations and voting! While some winners were anticipated, a few surprises emerged in the public-voted categories. This year has been exceptionally strong for mobile gaming, a fact clearly reflected in the results.
The awards journey has been remarkable, showcasing the industry's incredible growth since the inaugural event in 2010 (where reader's choice was a single category). Having witnessed the nomination process since October, it's clear this year marks a significant milestone: for the first time, the winners truly represent the breadth and depth of the mobile gaming landscape.
The list includes titles from gaming giants (NetEase, with Sony's Destiny; Tencent-backed SuperCell; Scopely), established publishers (Konami, Bandai Namco), and beloved indie developers (Rusty Lake, Emoak). The rise of ports is also noteworthy; mirroring the trend of PC adaptations of mobile games, this year saw many successful transitions in the opposite direction, resulting in three award-winning ports.
