Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic has some exciting throwbacks planned. Starting May 1st, 2025, the game will launch a nostalgic event that brings back classic gadgets from the good old Nintendo days.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with various fun decor, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s, tapping into a wave of nostalgia.
Additionally, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be added, celebrating Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. These card designs are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.
The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage in event missions and collect unique Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items like Game Button Cells, seedlings that grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at tackling these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
In May, players can cultivate big flowers such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses by planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.
A nectar update will also enhance gameplay, allowing fruit from mushrooms in May to produce nectar for regular flowers, as well as special ones like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
The celebration doesn't stop there, with additional activities like Community Day on the schedule. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store to get ready for the 3.5th anniversary festivities.
