While a Nintendo Switch version of Palworld isn't entirely off the table, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has voiced concerns regarding the technical challenges of porting the game.

Palworld's Future on Switch Remains Uncertain
No Concrete Plans from Pocketpair
In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the significant hurdles in bringing Palworld to the Switch, citing the game's demanding PC specifications. While discussions about new platforms are ongoing, Pocketpair hasn't made any announcements regarding future releases.
Despite the technical challenges, Mizobe remains optimistic about expanding Palworld's reach. He previously acknowledged the significant difference in system requirements between the PC and Switch versions. The possibility of PlayStation, mobile, or other console releases remains unconfirmed. Earlier this year, Mizobe confirmed discussions about expanding to more platforms, but declined to specify which ones. He also mentioned openness to partnerships or acquisitions, but denied any buyout talks with Microsoft.
Aiming for Enhanced Multiplayer Experience
Mizobe also shared his vision for expanding Palworld's multiplayer capabilities, drawing inspiration from popular survival games like Ark and Rust. The upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, is a step towards a more robust PvP experience. He explicitly stated his desire to incorporate elements reminiscent of Ark and Rust, including complex resource management and extensive player interaction.
Ark and Rust both feature challenging environments, intricate resource systems, and significant player interaction, including alliances and conflict. Both titles blend PvE and PvP elements, requiring players to overcome environmental hazards and dangerous wildlife.
Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting and survival shooter, has enjoyed remarkable success since its launch, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A significant update, the free Sakurajima update, is scheduled for release on Thursday, introducing a new island and the highly anticipated PvP arena.
