Marvel Rivals Players Have an Idea to Improve Proficiency Rewards

Marvel Rivals' Reward System Under Fire: Players Demand More Accessible Nameplates

Marvel Rivals players are voicing their discontent with the game's reward system, particularly the difficulty in obtaining nameplates without significant in-app purchases. This has sparked a lively debate within the community, focusing on the scarcity of these highly sought-after customization options.

The game, launched in December 2024, recently released its highly anticipated Season 1 update, expanding the content significantly. Season 1 boasts a more extensive battle pass with ten character skins, alongside other cosmetic items like nameplates, sprays, and emotes. However, the acquisition of nameplates, a key element of player self-expression, is proving to be a major point of contention.

Reddit user DaPurpleDerpleOf highlighted the issue, suggesting a simple yet effective solution: converting Lore Banners into nameplate rewards. Many players feel Lore Banners are aesthetically less desirable than nameplates, making this a potentially popular change. The current system, where some nameplates are exclusively available for purchase, leaves many feeling unfairly disadvantaged.

Beyond the battle pass, Marvel Rivals also features a Proficiency system rewarding players for mastering characters through gameplay. Players are advocating for the inclusion of nameplates within the Proficiency rewards, arguing it's a logical way to showcase skill and dedication. The current Proficiency rewards, while appreciated, are considered insufficient by many. The addition of nameplates is seen as a "no-brainer" by a significant portion of the community.

The recent Season 1 update introduced substantial changes, including the addition of Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic from the Fantastic Four, along with new maps and game modes. While this update has been generally well-received, the ongoing debate surrounding the reward system underscores the importance of accessible and rewarding gameplay for all players. The developers will likely need to address this concern to maintain player satisfaction.
