The White Wolf is making his final appearance. Filming for The Witcher Season 5 is officially underway, and new set photos featuring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt de Rivia have surfaced online, along with glimpses of returning and new cast members. Hemsworth steps into the iconic role previously held by Henry Cavill, who announced his departure in October 2022.
The leaked images, shared by the Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence, showcase Hemsworth in full Geralt attire, complete with his signature long blonde hair. Also spotted in the photos are Meng’er Zhang reprising her role as Milva and Joey Batey back as Jaskier. Meanwhile, new additions to the cast include legendary actor Laurence Fishburne, who joins as Emiel Reigs, a character set to play a key role in the final season.
Speculation is rife that Season 5 may draw inspiration from Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Tower of the Swallow, where Geralt encounters beekeepers guiding him toward druids. However, with Season 4 still pending release, the storyline remains fluid and unpredictable.
In other casting news, Kim Bodnia, who portrayed Vesemir, will not return for Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts. Netflix has yet to confirm who will take over the role, and an official release date for Season 4 remains unannounced.
