Helldivers 2's Nemesis Foes Emerge in Leaked Footage

Helldivers 2

A recent leak reveals the Impaler, a formidable foe from the original Helldivers, is slated for inclusion in Helldivers 2's enemy roster. Helldivers 2 already boasts a diverse range of enemies, categorized into the Terminid and Automaton factions, each possessing unique abilities and attributes. Players must contend with both factions to liberate planets and defend Super Earth.

The core gameplay of Helldivers 2 revolves around spreading Managed Democracy across the galaxy. The cooperative shooter features Major Orders – community challenges tasking players with eliminating enemies within time limits. Successful completion yields Medals and Requisitions, used to unlock weaponry, armor, and strategic advantages.

IronS1ghts, a leaker with a proven track record (including previous leaks of Illuminate enemy models), reports the Impaler's addition to the game files in a recent patch. While the in-game model isn't yet publicly available, its appearance in the files suggests an imminent release.

The Impaler's Return

The Impaler, a dangerous, burrowing insect from the first Helldivers, attacks from underground using its front tentacles. Its heavily armored front necessitates targeting its exposed face. Like other Terminids, it's vulnerable to fire damage.

Helldivers 2's Terminid enemies are primarily melee combatants, utilizing claws and employing varied attack strategies. Their weaknesses include susceptibility to fire and comparatively lighter armor compared to Automaton foes. Examples include Bile Spewers (acidic projectiles) and Chargers (high-impact knockback).

Further leaks hint at the imminent arrival of the Illuminate faction, promising a substantial addition to the enemy roster. This faction will reportedly include diverse units such as the Obelisk, Pathfinder, Summoner, Outcast, and Illusionist, each with unique attack methods. Expect projectiles, reinforcements, and fire-based attacks. More details are expected shortly.
