Conquering a level in the co-op game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. After your victory, the Service Station awaits, offering a chance to purchase essential upgrades, including Energy Crystals. But what exactly are Energy Crystals, and how do you get your hands on more?
What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?
These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing the first level, are a worthwhile investment, costing between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when the difficulty is lower, they're usually cheaper, providing an opportunity to stock up if you've had a successful run.

Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is invaluable, allowing you to recharge tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker. Simply place the tool in the bin next to the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging. This significantly reduces the need for replacements, saving your team money in the long run.
While the crystals themselves are not unlimited, they're automatically placed in the container upon purchase. Each crystal provides enough energy to refill about four battery sections of an item; six crystals fully charge the Energy Container. Once depleted, crystals need replacing.
How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.
Energy Crystals are only available for purchase at the Service Station, and can be expensive. To ensure you have enough funds, diligently collect valuables throughout each level. Only after successfully completing a level with sufficient funds will the Taxman transport you to the Service Station.
During particularly challenging levels, prioritizing survival and securing enough money to complete the level, rather than risking everything for more loot, can be a strategic move.
That's everything you need to know about Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. and how to acquire them.
