Instead of idly waiting for Elden Ring: Nightreign, one passionate fan has turned anticipation into action. Known as chickensandwich420 on YouTube, this player has taken on the daunting task of defeating Messmer the Impaler daily, using a different weapon each time and aiming to do so without taking any hits, all while playing on NG+7.
Since December 16, 2024, chickensandwich420 has been documenting this challenge on his channel. Initially, he considered tackling various bosses from FromSoftware's games but, being a senior at university, he opted to focus on Messmer to avoid diverting too much time from his studies.
Messmer the Impaler, the second antagonist in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, is notorious for his challenging nature. Players have reported needing anywhere from 30 to over 150 attempts to defeat him, even at the highest levels with the best gear. Thus, chickensandwich420's daily battle against Messmer is nothing short of a monumental challenge.
There's a twist, however—chickensandwich420 has set a deadline for himself and FromSoftware. If Nightreign doesn't release by June, he plans to shift his focus to other games. This would mean over 160 days of battling Messmer. As of now, he's on day 23.
