Demon Mode/Demon Gauge and Archdemon Mode

The Dual Blades' unique gauge mechanic allows entry into Demon Mode, boosting attack, movement speed, evasion, and providing knockback immunity. Stamina depletes constantly in Demon Mode, ending when manually cancelled or stamina reaches zero. Successful attacks in Demon Mode fill the Demon Gauge. A full gauge activates Archdemon Mode, where the gauge depletes over time and is consumed by certain attacks, unleashing devastating power. Both modes can be used concurrently, and the Demon Gauge stops decreasing while mounted on a monster.

Demon Dodge

A powerful state triggered by a Perfect Evade, enhancing regular and elemental damage, and enabling attacks while dodging. Demon Dodge provides a 12-second damage buff, with subsequent dodges causing spinning damage.

Dual Blades combos revolve around Demon and Archdemon Modes. Chaining attacks maximizes damage.

Basic Combo

A three-part chain: Double Slash, Double Slash Return Stroke, and Circle Slash. Reliable damage in various situations. Alternatively, use Circle/B (Demon Flurry Rush – Spinning Slash – Double Roundslash) to rapidly fill the Demon Gauge.

Demon Mode Basic Combo

In Demon Mode, the basic combo becomes faster and more powerful: Demon Fangs, Twofold Demon Slash, Sixfold Demon Slash, culminating with Triangle/Y + Circle/B (Demon Flurry I).

Archdemon Mode Blade Dance Combo

Once the Demon Gauge is full, unleash Archdemon Mode's devastating power. Begin with Blade Dance (Triangle/Y + Circle/B) in Demon Mode, followed by four R2/RT presses for Demon Flurry I into Blade Dance II, then finish with Demon Flurry II and Blade Dance III. This rapid interchange delivers immense damage.

Mastering the Dual Blades involves seamless transitions between modes for maximum damage output.

Always Follow Up

The basic Demon Flurry Rush combo (Circle/B x3) smoothly transitions into full Demon or Archdemon Mode combos (Triangle/Y + Circle/B x3). This rapidly fills the Demon Gauge and unleashes immediate, powerful attacks.

Maintain Stamina

Demon Mode relies on stamina. Conserve stamina by exiting Demon Mode to recover, or use Focus Strike on wounds to maintain the Demon Gauge without stamina drain.

Dodge Between Attacks

Due to the lack of defensive options, utilize the Dual Blades' high mobility to dodge between attacks. The quick animations allow for tactical dodging without committing too early.

Sharpen Frequently

The constant attacks necessitate frequent sharpening. The Speed Sharpening skill significantly reduces downtime.
