Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent-developed title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market.
The game blends diverse missions and game modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Delta Force is a long-standing name in FPS gaming, predating even Call of Duty. Its focus on realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry has always been a key feature.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the series. "Warfare" mode offers large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, while "Operations" delves into the extraction shooter genre. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the film "Black Hawk Down" and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced criticism regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn criticism. While their G.T.I. Security team is dedicated to combating cheating, restrictions implemented for the PC version have been met with negative feedback.
Although the mobile platform may present fewer cheating challenges, the PC controversy could still impact the game's reception. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience might yet meet player expectations.
