In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, strengthening your character is crucial for tackling higher difficulties, and one effective way to do this is by utilizing Gems. These handy items offer passive buffs that can significantly enhance your gameplay, making them essential for any serious player. Whether you're crafting new gems or upgrading existing ones, understanding the system is key to optimizing your character's potential. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to craft and level up gems, along with tips for increasing your chances of getting the gems you desire.

How To Craft & Level Up Gems In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Crafting gems in Dynasty Warriors: Origins involves using a resource called Pyroxene, which can be done at any Inn or tent within the game. When you're in your room, select the "Create Gems" option, the second from the top, to begin the crafting process. Each Pyroxene used will craft a gem at a one-to-one ratio, but remember, the outcome is random among five possible gem types.

Once you've crafted a base gem, it starts at level 1 and can be equipped through your Battle Preparations menu. Crafting additional gems of the same type will grant XP to the base gem, leveling it up and enhancing its effects. If you're not particular about which gems you get, feel free to use all your Pyroxene at once to craft multiple gems and upgrade them randomly.

For those who seek specific gems, there's a feature called "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" which might activate when crafting a single gem. This feature limits the types of gems that can be crafted with your Pyroxene to three randomly selected options. If the selected gems aren't what you want, you can exit and re-enter the crafting menu to try again. Although this method is more time-consuming, it can be worth it if you're focused on a particular gem.

"Eyes of the Sacred Bird" helps mitigate the randomness of gem crafting but doesn't eliminate it entirely.

Here are the five gems you can craft and their passive boosts:

Gem NamePassive Boost
Oblivion GemExpands attack range.
Vortex GemBoosts damage to enemies launched into the air.
Scorch GemBoosts damage dealt to enemies with parries.
Wellspring GemRestores health for every 100 enemies defeated.
Ascendance GemActivates a chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer.

Where To Get Pyroxene In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Pyroxene, the key ingredient for crafting gems, can be found scattered throughout the overworld as distinctive orange crystals protruding from the ground. Collecting one of these crystals will yield a single Pyroxene, but be quick as they disappear after being picked. After completing Skirmishes or Battles, some of these crystals will respawn on the overworld map, encouraging you to revisit and explore areas you've already been to. Additionally, you might receive Pyroxene from letters, which you can read in your room at an Inn or tent. Keep an eye out and collect as much Pyroxene as possible to fuel your gem crafting endeavors.
