Neowiz and Gamfs N have just launched the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update introduces a sizzling new experience to the game, set against the backdrop of a Japanese winter hot spring. Expect intense swordfighting battles, unique BrownDust2 challenges, and a dash of monkey mischief that adds a humorous twist to the mix.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
The update introduces three new characters, with Ventana taking the lead as the protagonist. Both Ventana and Liberta are available as playable characters through the pickup draw, while Blade remains exclusive to the narrative. The Onsen Training event story unfolds in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, featuring a total of 30 battles divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The narrative kicks off with Ventana, the captain of the Kendo Club, reeling from a devastating defeat by Justia, a newcomer. Driven by the desire to restore her honor, Ventana seeks out a legendary snowy mountain hot spring believed to boost physical strength. Her training takes an unexpected turn when she encounters the playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate, comes to her rescue but rebuffs her plea for swordsmanship training. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who pledges to help Ventana win Blade's mentorship.
There’s a New Mini-Game
The update also introduces Onsen Tile Tactics, a new mini-game where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story is segmented into phases, starting with "Legendary Graduate" in the first week and culminating in "Beyond Legend" by the third week.
Players will confront both returning and new bosses. Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, makes a reappearance in the first week, while the third week introduces the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a giant monkey that becomes more powerful when targeting enemies with Damage over Time (DoT) effects. Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no specific weaknesses, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and demands a high number of chain stacks to defeat.
New gear and costumes are up for grabs as well. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which can be obtained until February 13th.
