Launch Date Moved to September 12

In a surprising turn of events, following the State of Play announcement, Gearbox Entertainment CEO Randy Pitchford took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video on April 29, revealing that Borderlands 4's launch date has been moved up to September 12. Although he quickly deleted the video and followed up with a post saying it was posted prematurely, the news spread like wildfire.

Pitchford expressed in his video that the development process has been exceptionally smooth, describing it as "the best scenario." This progress has led to the decision to advance the launch date. Originally set for September 23, as announced during PlayStation's February State of Play, Borderlands 4's official X account confirmed the new earlier date of September 12.
