Bandai Namco to Publish Rebel Wolves' Dark Fantasy Action RPG, Dawnwalker
Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio comprised of key developers from The Witcher 3, has partnered with Bandai Namco Entertainment for the global release of their debut title, Dawnwalker. This AAA action RPG, launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox in 2025, promises a mature, story-driven experience set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe.
Bandai Namco's role as publisher is a significant step in their Western market strategy, as highlighted by VP Alberto Gonzalez Lorca. Rebel Wolves, established in 2022, envisions Dawnwalker as a next-generation RPG, emphasizing a compelling narrative. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, expressed excitement about the partnership, citing shared values and Bandai Namco's established success with narrative-driven RPGs.
Further details on Dawnwalker are anticipated in the coming months. The game's creative direction is led by Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CDPR veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, also a CDPR alumnus, confirmed Dawnwalker as a new IP with a scope comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, promising a non-linear storyline.
Tomaszkiewicz emphasized the game's design to offer diverse choices and replayability. The team's progress on this ambitious project is highly anticipated.
