Tarneeb is a card game for two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other at a table. A standard 52-card deck is used, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player attempts to estimate the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor; other players must then throw the same type of paper. The player who starts, and wins, each round's "Bamh" (trick) takes the next round's lead. If a player doesn't have a matching paper, they forfeit the "Tarneeb" option. "Tarneeb" papers are considered more powerful than other papers, and the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins the trick, unless a stronger "Tarneeb" is played.
The round ends when all players have played their cards. Points are tallied. A team's bid must be met or exceeded to score points. If successful, the team adds the number of "Allmat" won to their score; the other team gets nothing. If unsuccessful, the bid amount is subtracted from their score, and the number of "Allmat" won by the opposing team is added to their score.
If either team achieves a "WIG 13" (winning 13 tricks) without bidding for it, 16 points are added to their total. If they bid for and achieve "WIG 13," 26 points are added. If a team bids for "WIG 13" and fails, 16 points are deducted.
The game concludes when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points; that team is declared the winner.
