Points are awarded for melded cards, while penalties are incurred for unmelded cards (deadwood) remaining in your hand at the end of a round.

• Card Values: Royalty cards are worth 10 points each. Aces are valued at 11 points in a meld but incur a 15-point penalty if held at the end of a round. Jokers take the value of the card they replace, plus a 15-point penalty if held.
• Scoring: Points accumulate across multiple rounds.
