Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation

The developers behind the PvPvE action game *Dungeonborne*, inspired by the well-known *Dark and Darker*, have officially announced the cessation of support and the upcoming closure of the game's servers. Despite its promising start, *Dungeonborne* struggled to maintain its player base over its brief lifespan of less than a year. The primary reasons cited for this downturn include insufficient player engagement and a noticeable absence of substantial updates to keep the community invested.

While *Dungeonborne*'s page on Steam remains viewable, it has vanished from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the developers have not explicitly stated the reasons for the shutdown, it's evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a significant factor. From late 2024 onwards, *Dungeonborne* consistently saw fewer than 200 concurrent players, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 active users daily.

The final chapter for *Dungeonborne* will be written on May 28, when its servers will be permanently taken offline. This marks the end of a project that, despite initially capturing the attention of genre enthusiasts, ultimately failed to fulfill its potential and will soon be relegated to gaming history.
