Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with continuously evolving rosters adapt to the shifting meta. For instance, at ZZZ's launch, Grace was a top-tier Agent due to her powerful Anomaly-building capabilities, especially when paired with other Anomaly characters. However, as more Anomaly units have been introduced, Grace's utility has diminished, particularly with the rise of Miyabi, an exceptionally powerful Anomaly unit. Consequently, this Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been updated to reflect the current state of the game's character roster.
S-Tier
S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are the cream of the crop, excelling in their roles and synergizing exceptionally well with their teammates.
Miyabi
Miyabi stands out as one of the premier characters in ZZZ, thanks to her swift Frost attacks and devastating damage output. While she requires some setup to maximize her potential, understanding her mechanics and unleashing her ultimate move can clear the battlefield effortlessly.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe surpasses Piper in ZZZ by leveraging her ability to critically hit with Assault Anomaly, resulting in significantly higher damage output. Despite Anomaly characters typically being slower than pure DPS, Jane Doe's exceptional Assault capabilities secure her a spot in the S-Rank, alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
Yanagi
Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without needing to apply Shock over another Anomaly. As long as an enemy is under an Anomaly effect, Yanagi can effortlessly activate Disorder, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.
Zhu Yuan
Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, delivering swift and potent damage with her Shotshells. She synergizes effectively with Stun and Support characters, particularly with Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1. Qingyi quickly stuns enemies, while Nicole amplifies Zhu Yuan's Ether damage and reduces enemy DEF.
Caesar
Caesar redefines what a Defense Agent can be, offering not only robust protection but also significant buffs and debuffs. Her scaling with Impact allows her to stun enemies easily, and her crowd control ability further cements her position as a leader in the support tier list.
Qingyi
Qingyi is a versatile Stunner who fits well in any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and ability to build Daze quickly with her Basic Attacks are notable. Additionally, Qingyi applies a substantial DMG multiplier to stunned enemies, though she doesn't outshine Lycaon in Ellen's team due to his extra effects for Ice characters.
Lighter
Lighter is a Stun Agent with significant buffs in his kit. He synergizes best with Fire and Ice characters, and given the strength of units with these attributes, he naturally ranks high in the ZZZ tier list.
Lycaon
Lycaon is an Ice unit specialized in Stun combat. He relies on his charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to apply Ice and Daze, enhancing Anomaly reactions. His ability to reduce enemies' Ice resistance and increase allies' Daze DMG makes him essential in any Ice team in Zenless Zone Zero.
Ellen
Ellen is an Attack Agent who leverages the Ice element to maximize her damage output in Zenless Zone Zero. Her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is a key factor in her high ranking. When Ellen enters the field after Lycaon's stun and Soukaku's buffs, her attacks, especially her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates, deal massive damage.
Harumasa
Harumasa, an S-Rank Agent given for free at one point, is an Electric-Attack character requiring specific setup to unleash his powerful hits.
Soukaku
Soukaku is a valuable Support in Zenless Zone Zero, primarily functioning as a buffer who can also contribute to building Ice Anomaly. When paired with other Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon, Soukaku enhances their performance with significant Ice buffs, establishing her as one of the best buffers in the game.
Rina
As a Support, Rina not only deals considerable damage but also grants her allies PEN, enabling them to bypass enemy defenses. Her high damage output comes from sharing a portion of her PEN with her allies, necessitating a focus on PEN Ratio when building her. Rina also excels at building Shock Anomaly and boosting Shock reactions, making her a valuable teammate for Electric characters.
A-Tier
A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are excellent in specific combos and generally good at their roles.
Nicole
Nicole is a valuable Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero. Her abilities to pull enemies into energy fields benefit AoE units like Nekomata, while also shredding enemies' DEF and boosting the team's Ether DMG. However, her support is less impactful for non-Ether DPS units.
Seth
Seth excels as a shielder and support, though not at the level of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche support for Anomaly DPS makes him less versatile than ATK buffers, which still benefit Anomaly teams since Anomaly damage scales with ATK.
Lucy
Lucy is a Support unit capable of dealing off-field damage. Her Guard Boars provide a substantial ATK% buff to the entire team lasting up to 15 seconds, while continuously dealing off-field damage. Her DPS potential increases when synergizing with another character to activate her Additional Ability.
Piper
Piper's kit revolves around her EX Special Attack, which is one of the best in Zenless Zone Zero. Once she starts spinning, she triggers Assault and builds Physical Anomaly, making her an excellent match for other Anomaly units to consistently trigger Disorder.
Grace
Grace is a strong Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of quickly Shocking enemies for continuous damage. When paired with other Anomaly builders, she can trigger Disorder for significant damage. Despite her relevance, the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her tier ranking.
Koleda
Koleda is a reliable Fire/Stun character in Zenless Zone Zero. Her ability to swiftly build enemies' Daze makes her a versatile team member, especially with other Fire characters. Her synergy with Ben not only boosts her stats but also adds exciting new movesets.
Anby
Anby's charm lies in her comedic timing during story quests, though she's also a dependable Stun unit in combat. Her quick and effective combos are useful, and her ability to deflect bullets while running adds utility. However, her susceptibility to interruptions compared to other Stun Agents like Qingyi, Lycaon, and Koleda keeps her from ranking higher.
Soldier 11
Soldier 11 is straightforward to play in Zenless Zone Zero, dealing significant damage with simple mechanics. Her Basic Attacks become infused with Fire when using her Chain Attack, Ultimate, or EX Special Attack. While you can manually infuse her Basic Attacks, it's often not worth the effort when a single EX Special Attack hit suffices.
B-Tier
B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero have utility but are outclassed by others in their roles.
Ben
Ben, the only defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, is fun to play due to his parry and punish mechanics. He also enhances Koleda's moveset, though his slow combat and limited team benefits outside of his Crit Rate buff keep him in B-Tier. His shield offers decent protection, but mastering dodging is generally more effective.
Nekomata
As an Attack unit, Nekomiya Mana, or Nekomata, deals significant AoE damage but heavily relies on her team for setup. In the 1.0 tier list, finding suitable teammates to feed enemies to her is challenging due to her Element and Faction. While Physical DPS units are plentiful, her Faction only offers Nicole as a useful Support. Future updates may improve her standing with the introduction of more supportive Physical characters.
C-Tier
C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to the game's meta.
Corin
Corin is an Attack character dealing Physical damage in Zenless Zone Zero. Her damage output shines when continuously slashing stunned enemies, achieved by holding her EX Special Skill. However, Nekomata's superior AoE damage and Piper's better Physical Anomaly application overshadow her.
Billy
Billy is loud and energetic but lacks in damage output. As an Attack character, he performs well in quick-swap teams where his Chain Attacks can be impactful. Yet, many other DPS characters, including Physical Attack ones, outperform him in terms of damage.
Anton
Anton's Core Skill allows continuous Shock damage, but his overall DPS is lacking. As an Attack/Electric unit, he should be a dominant force on the field, but his single-target focus limits his effectiveness in combat.
