Conquering Ellefale, the Azure Queen of Death in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana presents a significant challenge with its boss, Ellefale. This guide details strategies to overcome this formidable opponent. Maintaining distance is crucial; close-quarters combat will result in significantly more damage. While manageable on normal difficulty, higher difficulties demand preparation. The Ignis Bracelet is key.

Preparation:

Prioritize grinding to boost your health above 100. Raval Ore can upgrade your armor, but conserve it for later upgrades.

Combat Strategy:

Avoid rushing the fight. Ellefale is initially out of range of basic attacks. Utilize the Ignis Bracelet's fireballs to inflict damage from a safe distance – the far end of the arena. While Ellefale's moveset isn't extensive, each attack hits hard.

Ellefale's Attacks:

Ellefale employs four distinct attacks, each potentially restricting player movement. Careful positioning is paramount.

  • Spinning Disc: A projectile launched towards the player. Precise timing is needed to jump and avoid it. Ellefale raises her right arm to telegraph this attack.

  • Vertical Slash: A relatively easy-to-dodge attack; simply move laterally. This attack is also telegraphed by Ellefale raising her right arm. Be prepared to combine lateral movement with jumping to evade other simultaneous attacks.

  • Lightning Strikes: The most challenging attack to avoid. Ellefale leans forward as a telegraph. Immediately charge forward, then run and jump away when she raises both arms to avoid the lightning beams.

  • Spinning Sphere: A slowly moving sphere that restricts movement. Easily outrun individually, but it can become problematic when combined with other attacks. Ellefale raises both wings to telegraph this attack.

By mastering these strategies and understanding Ellefale's attack patterns, you can successfully defeat this challenging boss. Remember, distance, timing, and the Ignis Bracelet are your greatest allies.
