The Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event may have concluded (for now), but the retailer still offers a deal that perfectly aligns with our best Xbox deals.
Amazon has reduced the price of the WD Black 1TB storage expansion card for Xbox Series S and Series X consoles by 20%, bringing it down to $119.99 from its original MSRP of $149.99. Additionally, you can apply a $10 coupon to lower the price further to just $109.99.

That’s not all. If you prefer a massive 2TB storage upgrade for your console, you can save approximately $20 (now priced at $199.99), or opt for the 512GB version for $85.99.
So, why not just plug in any old hard drive you have lying around? In short, those won’t be fast enough to support your Xbox console’s ‘velocity architecture’, meaning you’ll need to move Series X and Series S games to your internal drive to play them.
Having additional storage, such as these expansion cards, allows you to play games directly from the card as if they were installed on your console’s internal storage.
It works a bit differently than PlayStation’s approach. Sony lets users utilize standard ‘off-the-shelf’ M.2 drives, but you need to open your console to install them. Microsoft, however, chose a proprietary route, allowing you to simply slot the expansion card into your system for a satisfying upgrade experience.
Microsoft recently increased the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by 50% and removed DLC discount benefits, before announcing a wave of new games coming to the service this month - including Ninja Gaiden 4 and Double Fine’s Keeper.
Still, if you're maintaining your subscription, this is an excellent way to expand your storage capacity.
