WoW Update: Unveiling 2 New Race Additions in Patch 11.1

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 introduces thrilling new races: Breakneck D.R.I.V.E. and Skyrocket races. These replace traditional Skyriding races in the new Undermine zone.

Undermine, a vast subterranean Goblin city, prohibits flying. Instead, players navigate using the customizable D.R.I.V.E. vehicle, offering high-speed ground-based racing in Breakneck races. These races emphasize speed and precision, challenging players to master the D.R.I.V.E.'s handling.

Adding another dimension, Skyrocket races utilize Goblin jetpacks for aerial maneuvering. This unique flight system blends aspects of traditional flight and Skyriding; players maintain momentum but cannot hover. Collecting rings boosts speed, but reduces maneuverability, creating a dynamic and challenging experience. Footage from the Public Test Realm (PTR) by MrGM showcases this exciting new gameplay.

No Skyriding, But Plenty of Racing:

The absence of Skyriding in Undermine means no Skyriding races. However, both Breakneck and Skyrocket races offer achievements for completing each course with Bronze, Silver, and Gold times. While reverse versions of all races exist, advanced or challenge courses, unlike some Skyriding races, are currently absent.

Race Lineup in Patch 11.1:

Player reaction to the Skyrocket races has been varied. Some are enthusiastic, while others find the jetpack controls less responsive than Skyriding. With Patch 11.1 still under development (anticipated February release), further refinements are expected.
