While the excitement of World of Warcraft's 20th Anniversary event has faded, players need not worry—there's no shortage of engaging activities to keep them occupied until the release of Patch 11.1 later this year. During similar content lulls in the past, such as those experienced during Dragonflight, Blizzard introduced the special Turbulent Timeways event. This event, beloved by many, has made a triumphant return, offering a unique reward for those diligent enough to secure the Mastery of Timeways buff repeatedly.

Turbulent Timeways Event Explained

Unlike the typical weekly spread of Timewalking events, Turbulent Timeways brings an exhilarating twist with five consecutive Timewalking events from January 1 to February 25. Each week focuses on a different set of dungeons from various expansions, providing a nostalgic journey through World of Warcraft's rich history. The sequence is as follows:

  • Week 1: Mists of Pandaria (1/07 to 1/14)
  • Week 2: Warlords of Draenor (1/14 to 1/21)
  • Week 3: Legion (1/21 to 1/28)
  • Week 4: Classic (1/28 to 2/04)
  • Week 5: The Burning Crusade (2/04 to 2/11)
  • Week 6: Wrath of the Lich King (2/11 to 2/18)
  • Week 7: Cataclysm (2/18 to 2/25)

Every time you complete a Timewalking Dungeon, you'll earn one stack of the Knowledge of Timeways buff. This buff lasts for two hours, remains active even if you die, and boosts your experience gain from monster kills and quest completions by five percent. Upon accumulating four stacks, the buff evolves into Mastery of Timeways, lasting for three hours and amplifying experience gains by an impressive 30%. Similar to its predecessor, this buff persists through death, and its duration refreshes with each completed Timewalking Dungeon.

To unlock the Mastery of Timeways, you must maintain four stacks of Knowledge of Timeways without letting them expire. It's crucial to stay active and avoid extended periods of inactivity to prevent losing your stacks. Should the Knowledge of Timeways duration lapse before reaching four stacks, you'll need to start over.

Turbulent Timeways Rewards

Beyond the leveling benefits provided by the buff, Turbulent Timeways offers enticing rewards that give players additional reasons to participate. One such reward is the Sandy Shalewing mount, available for purchase from Timewalking Vendors at a cost of 5,000 Timewarped Badges. This mount, a beloved prize from the previous Turbulent Timeways event during Dragonflight, returns to delight collectors and adventurers alike.

Additionally, a new mount, the Timely Buzzbee, can be earned by achieving the Mastery of Timeways buff in five out of the seven weeks that Turbulent Timeways runs. This exclusive mount adds an extra layer of challenge and excitement, encouraging players to engage deeply with the event over its duration.
