by Elijah Mar 16,2025

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo is launching another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, today. This new roguelite puts a fresh twist on the musou genre, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss lets players build a squad of iconic characters and battle through hordes of enemies. The isometric perspective is reminiscent of both Diablo and Hades, creating a unique and engaging gameplay experience.

Players assemble a team to confront the forces of "hell," facing demonic adversaries along the way. The gameplay trailer revealed characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, showcasing the diverse roster available.

PlayAccording to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Up to seven heroes can be active in battle simultaneously, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.

Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster post-launch, beginning with characters from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further additions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series joining the fray.

Warriors: Abyss is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for February 13, 2025. Players who purchase the game before March 14, 2025, will receive an in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set.
